The Hills District Girls Take on Santa Cruz 70.3

September 11

Professional athletes Sarah Crowley and Skye Moench have been spending the last month based at our US training base in Park City, Utah, building their fitness leading into some key races.
Sarah has been in particularly heavy training in preparation for Kona in just over a month, with Santa Cruz 70.3 coming at a perfect time for a solid hit out. Sarah managed to put together an impressive race, amid heavy training, to take out another 70.3 win for the season. With the focus firmly on the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Sarah was straight back to altitude in Park City to finish off her preparations for the Big Dance.

Skye Moench, joined Sarah at Santa Cruz 70.3, managing to back up her recent European Ironman and 70.3 podiums. With Santa Cruz being her first 70.3 podium on home soil, after placing 3rd amongst a strong field, as she continues to rise up the professional ranks.

Sarah Crowley's last 3 races:
- Ironman Frankfurt 3rd
- Ironman Hamburg 1st
-  Ironman Santa Cruz 70.3 1st

Skye Moench last 4 races:
- Ironman Rapperswill 70.3 3rd
- Ironman Frankfurt 7th
- Ironman Switzerland 2nd
- Ironman Santa Cruz 70.3 3rd

Fellow Hills District athlete Renee Kiley had a great day out at Challenge Almere in Holland over the weekend.
Renee walked into the pool gates at The Hills District 24 hours before the group departed for Europe. Coach Cam Watt said 'no fault of you's but this is bad timing, we are out of here in the morning...', Renee replied 'Give me a week or two and I'll see you over there'.  And with that she turned up to our European base in St Mortiz Switzerland.
Over this time we have started some changes with Renee and completed some great initial work. We event had a chance to show Renee some of the different races around Europe and challenge previous thought processes. This was all confirmed in Challenge Almere in Holland where we saw an improved race with gains made across all 3 disciplines.

With the focus now on the Ironman World Championships in Kona, athletes are busy making the finishing touches before heading to Hawaii.
